Welcome

Second Baptist Church exists to glorify the Father, obediently exalting the Lord Jesus Christ, by making and maturing disciples in the West Frankfort area and around the world, bringing them into the fellowship of the church, nurturing them with biblical love, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

On behalf of our church family, we want to invite you to visit our church. We believe serving Christ in the local church is a joy and privilege, and we want to share that joy with you. We're excited about the Lord Jesus, and are proclaiming the message of His saving grace.

Our ministries are focused on the glory of God, and we believe that living for His glory is the highest purpose any person can have.

Let us help you discover that purpose in your life. Please come worship Almighty God with us!

In Christ,
Brother Brett Beasley

Thanksgiving Praise Dinner

Our Thanksgiving Praise Dinner is on Sunday November 23 at 5:00 pm at the Banquet Hall at the West Frankfort City Park.

New Study on Wednesday Nights

Beginning October 22 on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm, our adult discipleship group will be studying "The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment" by Tim Challies.

Spiritual discernment is good for more than just making monumental decisions according to God's will. It is an essential, day-to-day activity that allows thoughtful Christians to separate the truth of God from error and to distinguish right from wrong in all kinds of settings and situations. It is also a skill—something that any person can develop and improve, especially with the guidance in this book.

Ephesus School

This fall our men and women in Ephesus School are doing an overview of the Old Testament using the course material from Biblical Training.org.  The men are reading "The Hole in Our Holiness" by Kevin DeYoung and discussing the topic of disciple-making.  The ladies are reading, "Made for More: An Invitation to Live in God's Image" by Hannah Anderson.
